The Mushroom Kingdom is the first world in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. It is Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi's home world. Bowser is the World Boss. The majority of the levels in the Mushroom Kingdom are original levels, done in a classic Mario style similar to either Super Mario Bros. 3 or New Super Mario Bros., although there are a handful of levels scattered throughout that are modeled directly after specific levels throughout the Mario series. This world is divided up onto 8 lands areas with levels based on a specific environmental themes on each of the land like most of the desert levels will be on Desert land for example.

The Mushroom Kingdom also counts as the game's hub world; not only does the player start here, but they also must return here after completing each other world in order to open up the route to the next. After returning to World 1 after completing a different world, the game will indicate a specific level that has started undergoing the Fusion effect while the player was away. These levels contain the World Exits special secret routes containing a mini-Fusion level related to the world it connects to. By completing a World Exit, the player will gain permanent access to the warp pipe leading to that particular world.

Trivia[]

  • The map of this world is based on Super Mario Bros. 3's World Maps, with each area themed around that game's 8 worlds.
    • Meanwhile Giant Land and Pipe Land are not present, a new area called No Man's Land is present as well as Ocean Side and Grass Land have revamped map tiles. (Also, unlockable levels have unique map sprites, such as Dinosaur Mountain, which have some SMW map sprites.)
    • The tileset for the revamped map is made by MFGGer SuperSledgeBro
    • Despite the absent of Giant Land and Pipe Land, one of the levels, Tiny-Huge Valley (which is based on the World 4: Giant Land levels in SMB3), is located in the Sky World section of World 1, somewhat making the section a merger of Worlds 4 and 5 from SMB3. Also, the No Man's Land section features a level that partly based on the Pipe Land levels found in World 7 of SMB3: Pipe Labyrinth.
  • The music heard during the map is the Super Mario Bros. 3 Medley theme from the 2001 GameCube game Super Smash Bros Melee. Very early versions of the game only used a loop for the "Grass Land" section of theme before it changed to using the full version of the theme.
  • Toadette serves as the Shopkeeper in this world's Shop.
  • The "LEVEL COMPLETE" and "WORLD COMPLETE" script that appears after defeating a boss uses a font based on Super Mario 64.
  • Mushroom Hill was originally located in this world in earlier versions of MKF before being relocated to World 7.
  • Mystic Abyss was originally located in this world before being relocated to World 6. The level the replaced it on the map was Pipe Labyrinth, which returned to World 1 after previously being relocated to World 8 in earlier versions of MKF.
  • Originally, only Hammer Bros and their relatives patrolled the map areas in World 1 but are now joined by various enemies in the Mario universe.
  • According to the old defunct MKF Wiki, some levels were placed in different areas in the world than where they would end up being located in the finished map.
    • There was an unused level named "Dream Sea" what would ultimately be scrapped.
    • Also, there were early plans for Hell Prominence to have a "Back Door" secret level, a likely reference to the Super Mario World final castle level, which featured a secret level where the player would skip the first two rooms and go straight to the dark room, the final area before the fight against Bowser.
    • A scrapped level idea that was never developed was a Yoshi's Island-themed level called "Kamek's Lair", where Kamek would had served as a boss.
