Superflat World is the first level in World 8, the Nintendo Subspace. Based on the classic Game & Watch series of games, the level itself almost seems to exist solely on a small LCD screen. Enemies are flat black living stencils, the environment consists of monochrome shapes, and everything seems to "blink" its way around, rather than moving fluidly. Even the water lacks physical substance, seeming more like just a backdrop.

There are numerous enemies and hazards from throughout the Game & Watch series, along with a number of classic Nintendo enemies and objects converted into a monochrome Game & Watch format. The level passes through several areas modeled after various Game & Watch games, such as Helmet, Manhole, and Parachute. There are a number of hazards such as tools raining from above, firemen carrying trampolines, and platform-carrying little men who pop back and forth from place to place. The player must make their way through this 2-dimensional realm of monochrome hazards, to eventually reach the safehouse at the very end.

The level was originally planned to be named "Super Flat Zone", but it was changed by its developer.

The name "Superflat World" comes from Super Smash Bros. Melee, where it was listed as the location for the Flat Zone stage.
